Adam J. Welch is an Iowa-based 1st Assistant Camera, Focus Puller, and camera professional with more than 15 years of experience across narrative film, documentary, commercial, television, and broadcast production.

With a background in cinematography and camera operation, Adam brings both technical knowledge and a strong understanding of visual storytelling to the camera department. He specializes in focus pulling, camera preparation and builds, lens management, wireless follow focus systems, wireless video and monitoring, camera configuration, media workflows, equipment organization, and on-set troubleshooting.

Adam has experience working with professional cinema camera systems including the ARRI ALEXA Mini LF, RED V-RAPTOR, Sony VENICE, Sony FX9, Sony FX6, and other cinema and broadcast camera platforms. His focus pulling experience includes the ARRI WCU-4, Teradek RT, and Tilta Nucleus-M wireless follow focus systems. He is also experienced with Teradek wireless video transmission systems for on-set monitoring and video village workflows.

His technical experience extends to cinema lenses, professional monitoring, camera support, camera builds and configuration, lens management, media workflows, equipment organization, and the accessories required to maintain an efficient modern camera department.

Throughout his career, Adam has worked on narrative films, documentaries, television series, commercials, branded content, live productions, and broadcast projects. His work has contributed to Regional Emmy Award-winning productions and film festival selections, with experience ranging from independent productions to larger commercial and television sets.

Adam’s background in cinematography, production, and creative leadership gives him an understanding of both the creative and technical needs of Directors of Photography and camera operators. He approaches each production with an emphasis on preparation, organization, communication, technical precision, and maintaining an efficient camera department.
