“Artist” has been at the core of my identity long before I even understood its meaning. From childhood wonder to formal studies in photography and illustration at Coe College in Cedar Rapids, IA, and later at The Museum School of Fine Art in Boston, MA, my creative journey has been a lifelong pursuit. For decades, I worked as a designer and communicator, but only recently have I fully embraced fine art photography as my own.

My photography is deeply influenced by my background in design and storytelling. Often accompanied by poems or short narratives, my images explore the intricate details of nature and design, uncovering hidden rhythms and overlooked beauty in the world around us.

My illustrations range from graphic printing to photo-realism to satirical absurdity. From pop-art prints and high-detailed vector portraits to cartooning, my illustrations and graphic designs offer a dramatic range in styles.

Use this section to get the parent/child taxonomies for a single post being viewed

The above pulls in each of the parents within the artist-discipline taxonomy , which is good, if I want to display them alone without their children.

I need to probably display these like this:

Dance: Ballroom, General, Hip Hop, Jazz.

Design: General, Graphic

Will need to figure out how to return the sub categories (artist-discipline) for each parent individually and then loop through all parents assigned to the CPT (artist) being viewed.

In this section I was able to successfully pull all sub categories that belongs to the 2 parents selected. This could be good if I was trying to show all possible choices under that parent, but what I really need is to pull just the selected ones back.
