Hi! I’m Cindy To, and I’m a children’s book illustrator and educator based in the Des Moines area. My artwork is mainly created digitally in Photoshop and sometimes traditionally with watercolor. I specialize in picture book interior spreads, covers, backgrounds, and character design. I’m super excited about stories featuring themes of intergenerational connection, friendship, and cultural celebration.

Teaching also plays a big role within my artistic practice. I enjoy channeling my passion for drawing and painting into lesson planning and imaginative projects for kids. I find importance in connecting with my community and helping students express themself creatively and confidently. Working with kids is a huge inspiration for me because they remind me that it’s okay to be silly and have fun.
