Delaney Gibbons is an artist, illustrator, writer, and designer based in Ames, Iowa. She has over a decade of experience working on content and marketing for brands, turning complex ideas into striking, digestible visuals. After earning a BFA in Illustration from Parsons The New School for Design in New York City, she cut her teeth in several in-house design roles in New York and Chicago before going freelance in 2022. Among her clients are Zocdoc, NetApp, HarperCollins Children’s Books, ShopRunner, and United Fray. Now, she often partners with brand and marketing studios on their design and illustration needs. She has turned her personal creative focus to sequential art and comic storytelling. Her comics and essays have appeared in Modern Women, Human Parts, The Belladonna Comedy, and Jane Austen’s Wastebasket, among others. Most recently, her comic “Grief Belly” was selected for inclusion in Body: An Anthology, edited by Normandie Luscher (Spring 2025). Delaney chronicles her process and explorations through her weekly-ish newsletter, Daydronk. For more, visit delaneygibbons.com.

Use this section to get the parent/child taxonomies for a single post being viewed

The above pulls in each of the parents within the artist-discipline taxonomy , which is good, if I want to display them alone without their children.
Terms: Cartooning/Graphic Novel
Terms: Design
Terms: Graphic
Terms: Illustration/Drawing
Terms: Literary Arts
Terms: Non-Fiction
Terms: Visual

I need to probably display these like this:

Dance: Ballroom, General, Hip Hop, Jazz.

Design: General, Graphic

Will need to figure out how to return the sub categories (artist-discipline) for each parent individually and then loop through all parents assigned to the CPT (artist) being viewed.

In this section I was able to successfully pull all sub categories that belongs to the 2 parents selected. This could be good if I was trying to show all possible choices under that parent, but what I really need is to pull just the selected ones back.
