Denice’s realistic art focuses on light and shadow, color, and detail to create beauty, nostalgia, and peace. It is life’s contrasts—joy and sorrow, light and dark—that move us. She sees God’s presence in reflections, symbolic of the light we shine into the world. A lifelong native of NW Iowa, she finds beauty in everyday objects.

She calls her style Blended Reality—realistic, emotional, and created using only fingers and pastel sticks (artist chalk). Denice works from a sketch and builds each piece as she goes, letting the light and emotion guide her. Still life painting grounds her and challenges her, allowing deep creativity and reflection. Self-taught and down-to-earth, she strives to capture serenity and sentimentality. Denice’s artwork helps you find beauty and peace. Life is short, and art is her way of honoring its light.
