
University Professor Ingrid Lilligren teaches ceramics at Iowa State University. She has been instrumental in the development of a community arts outreach program linking the Department of Integrated Studio Arts and ISU Extension. Through initiatives like the Artist Next Door, the Biorenewables Art Competition, and the Relationships cycle of exhibitions at the Brunnier Art Museum, the role of the visual arts as a driver for innovation and creative linkage across campus and communities has been strengthened
Exhibitions include the Grinnell College Museum of Art, Des Moines Art Center, Brunnier Art Museum, Ames, IA, Woodbury University Hollywood Gallery, Los Angeles, CA, and the Museum of the Hand in Lausanne, Switzerland. Work is held in public collections including Grinnell College, Iowa State University, the Sioux City Art Center and numerous private collections. Her art incorporates Braille as a means to explore social, cultural, and political blindness.
