
Sebastian Sanchez-Falero (b. 1991, Lima, Peru) is a visual artist based in Ames, Iowa, USA, specializing in photography, digital art, and installation. His work, characterized by rich color and conceptual depth, is rendered on giclée prints on metallic paper and canvas, as well as mixed media. He explores the various layers of individual and collective identity and is best known for his dynamic use of Artificial Intelligence as a mirror of human wisdom and as a potential window into consciousness itself, as seen in his series “Minds on a Digital Mirror” (2023).
Sanchez-Falero exhibitions include Mainframe Studios in Des Moines, Iowa; Memorial Union Art Gallery in Ames, Iowa; Universitat Autònoma in Barcelona, Spain; the Elena Poniatowska Foundation in Mexico City, Mexico; and the Fermilab Art Gallery in Batavia, Illinois. His work is held in the collection of Reiman Gardens in Ames, Iowa, as well as in various private collections internationally. He has participated in PHotoESPAÑA 2023 in Mexico City and will showcase “Minds on a Digital Mirror” at the upcoming Des Moines Art Festival 2025.
Sanchez-Falero is interested in artistic collaborations and commissions leveraging his technical expertise and artistic vision to capture and render facets of identity, broadly understood.
