A seasonal Hide & Seek series is coming to the Greater Des Moines region, kicking off this summer with “Sun Seekers.” The Greater Des Moines Partnership is inviting local artists to apply to participate in the public art activation.

From June through September, selected artists’ handmade pieces will be hidden throughout the Greater Des Moines Region for the public to discover – finders keepers!

The goal of this activation is to bring moments of surprise and delight to the Greater Des Moines Region while showcasing the talent of local artists. The Hide & Seek series encourages residents and visitors to explore and engage with art and support local businesses.

Artist Compensation: Selected artists will be compensated for their work. Final art quantities and compensation details will be determined upon artist selection.

Art Guidelines:
– Size: 6″x6″ or smaller
– Materials: Must be weather resistant (able to withstand rain and outdoor conditions)
– Quantity: Artists will create 10 pieces. These can be a single design or multiple designs at the artist’s discretion
– Art Style: Summer-themed pieces featuring playful subjects like suns, bicycles, beach balls, ice cream, fruit and more!

Artists must include the following to be eligible:
– Name
– Contact information (email, mailing address, and cell phone number)
– Social media information (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and/or website)
– Requested compensation per art piece (including materials and labor)
– Brief description of the proposed artwork
– Photos or renderings of the proposed artwork
