The Cedar Rapids Public Library believes in the value of public art and exploration. That’s why we have dedicated exhibition spaces in our libraries.
The library has three exhibit areas for local art: a gallery on the third floor the Downtown Library, a gallery at Ladd Library, and display cases near the skywalk at the Downtown Library. The galleries are focused primarily on two-dimensional works, while the display cases are great for small sculptures, ceramics, etc.. Special consideration is given to works produced by local artists.
Typically exhibits last about 2-3 months. The new Busse Branch library will open in September 2026 to replace the Ladd Library. Busse Branch will include an art gallery, as well.
