At Southeastern Community College (SCC), we are committed to showcasing diverse artistic voices across our four exhibition spaces, including our main galleries and satellite locations in both West Burlington and Keokuk. Our exhibition program rotates every 6–8 weeks and provides artists the opportunity to present their work to students, faculty, and the surrounding community.
Artists selected for exhibition will be expected to install their work on-site, with the support of the curator and facilities staff. Installations are generally scheduled on Mondays prior to the exhibition opening. De-installation will occur on the last Friday of the final week of the show. Specific dates will be coordinated well in advance to accommodate artist schedules.
While SCC does not require formal auditions, we do ask participating artists to be available for:
-
Exhibition Installation: Mondays before the show opens.
-
Gallery Opening Reception & Artist Talk: Scheduled during the first week of the exhibition, generally on a weekday evening from 4–6 PM. The artist talk is a highlight for our students and the community, providing a chance to hear directly from the exhibiting artist about their process and inspiration.
-
Classroom/Workshop Engagement (Optional): Opportunities are available for artists to meet with SCC art students in workshops, critiques, or lectures. These sessions are flexible and scheduled in collaboration with faculty and the artist’s availability.
-
De-Installation: Last Friday of the final week of the show.
Artists will also be asked to provide digital images, artwork details, and an artist statement several weeks prior to their exhibition to support marketing, promotion, and educational materials.
This opportunity allows artists to reach a wide audience across SCC’s campuses, which serve students, faculty, and the broader tri-state community. Exhibiting at SCC provides not only gallery exposure but also meaningful connections with the next generation of artists and art enthusiasts.
