Mainframe Studios is excited to announce an open call for artists to submit works for consideration in February 2025 First Friday’s exhibition themed “Layered.” This theme invites artists to widely interpret layers both visually and conceptually and submit works that delve into complexity and depth with imagery, materials, and processes.

The February exhibition will be curated by Brittany Brooke Crow, an artist known for her photographic self-portraiture and installations that confront vulnerability and intimacy, delving into the complexities of representing the queer, female body against historical and cultural backdrops. As a former gallery manager, 2021 Iowa Artist Fellow, and current facilitator of the Iowa Artist Career Accelerator program for the Iowa Arts Council, Crow brings a wealth of experience and insight to her curatorial role.
