Native Iowa artist Bruce A. Morrison’s interest in all things of nature stem from his early years along the Des Moines River valley in north central Iowa. Although interested in all wild things – birds and the landscape were always foremost in his mind. Since 1983, Bruce has been accepted into the Leigh Yawkey Woodson Art Museum’s internationally acclaimed “Birds in Art” exhibition 6 times, and several of Bruce’s serigraphs, drawings and paintings can now be found in the LYWAM’s permanent collection.
Nature photography is also a passion of Morrison’s and many of his photographs have been published as covers or for the illustration of articles for magazines, and in calendars distributed in the U.S. and Canada.
Many of Bruce’s works – paintings, drawings, serigraphs, and photography, can be found in public, private, and corporate collections in North America and overseas.
Bruce has a deep personal interest in the natural heritage of our remaining tallgrass prairie, and much of his work over the past two decades has been deeply influenced by this subject. He has spent these years in devoting time, energy, and his work in furthering and encouraging prairie reconstruction/restoration projects and education in NW Iowa.
