Daniel Castaneda “Sedra D’”
Universal observer, Pachamama warrior, multifaceted self taught BIPOC artisan and urban artist.
My art is a reflection of my perception of nature, dreams, roots and my indigenous culture. I paint colorful walls with graffiti and landscapes that symbolize the connection with our communities then I recycle my spray cans and turn them into small sculptures. My influences of the underground culture of hip hop introduced me to the elements of DJ, breakdance, and rap that I practice sometimes. I use a variety of materials and mediums in my creations, wood, metal, clay, fabrics, and skin for body paint and tattoos.
I like to explore digital and traditional art, using technology for experimental sounds and beats and augmented reality for my murals and designs.
I practice taxidermy with birds and other creatures to give them a second life and experience how we are all connected with the essence of the creation to coexist in our universe.
Textures, colors and shapes emerge in different ways to play with our vision and imagination, symbols engraved in our subconscious transport us in the time to that moment sculpted in our memories, messages delivered and painted on the empty streets transform our space into a beautiful rain of colors and emotions, a writer of this Art Re-Evolution.
From the essence of the almighty to my mind, from my mind to my hands and from my hands to the world.
