Evan and Summer Hoyt are The Artists Hoyt. They are a married, artistic duo whose collaborative pieces are a synthesis of their passions and creativity. Summer, an expressionist and spiritual painter, infuses her art with vibrant colors and emotive brushstrokes, creating pieces that speak to the soul and provoke introspection. Her illustrations breathe life into ethereal landscapes and mystical beings, drawing viewers into a world of wonder and contemplation. On the other hand, Evan’s stencil and spray paint-infused creations delves into the realms of trauma and loss, carrying a sense of haunting beauty and inviting observers to confront and engage with the complexities of human suffering. Together, their contrasting styles and thematic explorations speak to the depths of human experience, often exploring themes of loss, love, and nature.
Evan and Summer’s work have been seen on display at the Polk County Heritage Gallery, the Octagon Center for the Arts, Hoyt Sherman Place, Simpson Gallery of Art and Design, and the Iowa State Fair Fine Arts Exhibition. They can also be found at many local art festivals around central Iowa and have created many commissions including family and pet portraits, murals, and custom designs.
