Hanna Piepel is an interdisciplinary artist exploring the areas of illustration and design with her ceramic practice through screen printing and image transfer techniques. Her surface designs often reflect an eclectic contrast of florals, abstract forms and bold use of color showcasing Hanna’s appreciation for modern pattern design of the 50’s, 60’s and 70’s and roots in graphic design principles.
While teaching summer wheel camp to youth and basic pottery to adults year round, Hanna also exhibits work around the midwest in juried art shows and galleries. Hanna’s colorful illustration style and hand-drawn patterns are also featured in several published children’s books.
