I’m Jacque Hudson, a versatile artist who finds joy in playing with paint, pencils, pixels, and everything in between. With three degrees – one in Visual Arts (drawing & painting), another in Graphic Design (website wizardry), and a third in Creative & Performing Arts (theatrical design) – I’m a triple threat when it comes to creativity.
For over two decades, I’ve immersed myself in art, both as a lone wolf and a collaborative spirit. If it’s creative, I’ve likely painted it, illustrated it, transformed it into a mural, or designed it.
My creative sparks ignite from a myriad of sources: graphic design patterns, fairy tale illustrations, whimsical costumes, playful fashion, and conjuring enchanting scenes. And talking about magic, artists like Leslie Bell, Olidon Redon, Alphonse Mucha, and Marc Chagall are a perennial wellspring of inspiration. Their ability to capture the human form, nebulous emotional colors, and a dreamy style is something I find captivatingly immersive.
As for my canvas, I’m everywhere – canvas, linen, paper, wood panels, raw wood, and the occasional “found treasure.” Paper and wood give me that clean line precision I adore, while canvas lets me pour on the bold strokes. I begin with graphite sketches, then layer on acrylic colors. Surfaces matter; wood and paper soak in the paint, while canvas lets it dance on the surface. To infuse a touch of softness, I harness the magic of pastels. And for that extra finesse, colored pencils become my tool of choice for intricate details.
My motifs weave together drama, femininity, romance, and a dash of cheekiness. I’m not just an artist; I’m a visual storyteller.
Beyond the realms of paint, pixels, and pencils, my heart beats for animals, exploration, stopping to smell the roses, the great outdoors, baking experiments, getting lost in books, and reveling in fun fashion. If you’re seeking answers about art, feel free to contact me. Even if I can’t provide the solution, I’ll gladly point you in the right direction.
Thank you!
