Kelsie James is a singer/songwriter from central Iowa.

Spending her whole life performing and writing, Kelsie has always been entirely consumed in the world of music. Since her first performance in 2021, Kelsie has performed at Gabe’s, xBk Live, 80/35 Music Festival, the Roof Garden Ballroom, the Iowa State Fair, and Des Moines Arts Festival, along with many farmers markets and restaurants.

Kelsie released her debut EP Songs About Daisies in February 2023, getting her a nomination as one of five artists for Iowa Music Awards Country Artist of the Year. She has now released her first full-length album Kaleidoscope Soul in May of 2024.

James’ music is vulnerable, emotional, and raw, as well as inspired by the work of artists of past decades. She brings an enchanting and spiritual aspect to her performances that you do not often see in this day and age. Kelsie does not like to be defined as one genre or style. Kelsie James wants her music to speak for itself.

In this section I was able to successfully pull all sub categories that belongs to the 2 parents selected. This could be good if I was trying to show all possible choices under that parent, but what I really need is to pull just the selected ones back.
