Lindsay Keast is a musician working in Des Moines who has composed music for diverse mediums including film, animation, dance, theme, and live performance. Recent works include dance scores for “Enact: Keepers” performed by Syd Devine at the San Francisco International Arts Festival and a film score for artist Julia Oldham’s animation “Laika’s Lullaby” debuted at the Pataphysical Society in Portland, OR and shown in exhibitions across the country.
Lindsay is available for hire as a composer and can play events via her current music projects:
- Stubborn Tiny Lights vs. Clustering Darkness Forever OK?: 6-piece post-rock project based in Cedar Falls, Iowa
- Tree branch Twig (solo/duo/trio): Tree branch Twig is the experimental solo project of multi-instrumentalist Lindsay K. With a background in both art and music history, TbT blends not only the audial influences of drone and improvisation, but also attempts to transform the visual elements of collage by exploring the texture of sound, movement of shape, color of tone, and the weight of silence.
Lindsay is also a visual artist working in textile, mixed media, and photography. Her work is highly formal, focusing on compositional principles and elements inspired by Abstract Expressionism. She is available to create custom works by request.
