I make mixed media artworks about urban walking. Images are collaged from drawings, writing, and ephemera gathered on walks taken in cities and towns of all sizes. My works take the shape of prints, paintings, videos, and artists’ books. I have an MFA in printmaking from Indiana University Bloomington and a BFA in Art History from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. For 15 years, I was Professor of Art & Design at Grand View University in Des Moines, where I taught courses in printmaking, book arts, and graphic design. Before teaching, I worked as an illustrator in Chicago. I have work in the Linda Lee Alter Collection of Women in the Arts at the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts in Philadelphia and in the State Museum of Illinois in both Chicago and Springfield. I have been an artist in residence at the Ragdale Foundation, at Anchor Graphics, Chicago, and at the Kimmel Harding Nelson Foundation in Nebraska City. I am a 2018 Iowa Arts Council Fellow and was named a notable artist in New American Paintings, #143, Midwest Edition.
I am available to teach workshops in printmaking and creating artists’ books.
