As a kiln-formed glass artist I love working in a medium with endless possibilities. The colors and contrast I use in my glasswork span from subtle to vibrant and with the addition of light the pieces literally come to life. My work ranges from small to larger sculptural pieces. Each piece is uniquely designed and individually crafted.

I start by cutting large sheets of glass which can be layered or combined with pre-fired elements before heating a multiple of times in a kiln. Kiln temperatures range between 1100-1650 degrees depending on the process or effect I am trying to achieve, many pieces are fired 3-5+ times. The glass is also manipulated using various techniques when cold which include sandblasting, grinding, cutting with a wet tile saw and also when hot by combing or shifting a piece as it is settling into a mold. I also use the technique of glass flows which allows the glass to shift and move when hot.
I continue to learn, stretch my imagination and expand my perspective so my work is everchanging and always evolving making each piece of Housby Glass one of a kind.
