I am an artist and educator in Iowa. I received my BFA in Drawing & Painting from Iowa State University, and my MFA in Book Arts through the University of Iowa Center for the Book.

The artistic process is my way of taking weird pairings and formalizing them into something meaningful. I use play and methods of randomness to create my work. I find that not controlling every outcome adds complexity and multiplicity of meaning. My artists’ books and paintings incorporate found text and imagery in nonsensical ways to provoke the viewer to create their own connections and meanings between dissonant objects.
