Stephanie’s passion for making beautiful creations was rekindled during the pandemic as she spent precious moments with her artistic daughter. While exploring various art forms to engage her little one’s creative spirit, she stumbled upon an enchanting yarn installation that ignited her own artistic spark. With just one attempt, she discovered that working with yarn was the medium through which she could truly express herself.

Her profound appreciation for color and texture has driven her to delve into a wide array of yarn art styles, encompassing everything from intricate yarn hangings and adventurous weavings to the art of yarn “painting” and an extensive repertoire of playful pom pom creations.  She enthusiastically explores fresh techniques and incorporates reclaimed and discovered materials to craft truly distinctive pieces.

Several of her large creations have been featured in local AirBnbs, while her portfolio also includes a variety of custom orders to match distinct décor styles and special events.

With a broader vision in mind, Stephanie aims to unite fellow crafters and artists in the Des Moines area, to form a supportive community called DSM Craftmakers Collaborative. This collaborative endeavor seeks to streamline the business side of product selling, enabling members to concentrate on their creative work rather than becoming entangled in the intricacies of running a business.
