The Cardinal Sound is an energetic four piece band out of the Des Moines, IA music scene that plays a fun mix of cover songs and harmony led dynamic original songs to make an upbeat and energetic live show. The roots of our music are based in various Americana styles such as, Bluegrass, Folk, Country and Rock. Some examples of bands we’ve covered vary from, Chris Stapleton, Railroad Earth, Tyler Childers, and Zach Bryan, to popular more classic bands like The Grateful Dead, Pink Floyd, and Lynyrd Skynyrd often times done with an upbeat country/bluegrass influenced twist.

We most often play venues with sound and lighting provided, but we do have a top of the line excellent sounding QSC KW series powered sound system that is quick and easy to setup and quick to tear down along with a very fun compact light show including a low wattage LED par can light rack and a few smaller floor LED lights as well.

The Cardinal Sound musicians are:

  • Brian Berry – Guitar, Banjo, and Vocals
  • Justin Goes – Bass and Vocals
  • Chris English- Guitar, Harmonica, and Vocals
  • Ryan Barnes – Drums

Use this section to get the parent/child taxonomies for a single post being viewed

The above pulls in each of the parents within the artist-discipline taxonomy , which is good, if I want to display them alone without their children.
Terms: Acoustic
Terms: Americana
Terms: Band
Terms: Bluegrass
Terms: Country
Terms: Folk
Terms: Music
Terms: Pop/Rock

I need to probably display these like this:

Dance: Ballroom, General, Hip Hop, Jazz.

Design: General, Graphic

Will need to figure out how to return the sub categories (artist-discipline) for each parent individually and then loop through all parents assigned to the CPT (artist) being viewed.

In this section I was able to successfully pull all sub categories that belongs to the 2 parents selected. This could be good if I was trying to show all possible choices under that parent, but what I really need is to pull just the selected ones back.
