“Bringing ART to people and people to ART!”
The Ankeny Friends of the Arts began as an arts program founded by local art teachers who wished to provide more art opportunities to the Ankeny community.
The Ankeny Art Center is a non-profit 501 © 3, with most income deriving from the Santa’s North Pole Village Craft Fair Fundraiser that has been a staple in the Ankeny community for over 40 years, membership dues, and class registrations. The AAC’s mission is to enrich the quality of life in our community through visual arts education, exhibitions, and events.
The Ankeny Art Center offers various classes for all ages and any experience level. The AAC also offers shorter workshops and one-day classes for those who are not able to commit to an 8-week course.
Summer Art Camps for Kindergarten through 8th-grade children in June and July. Children can choose from various classes including Pottery Sculpture, Pottery Wheel, Drawing, and Art Exploration.
The AAC has gallery space that is free for the public to enjoy. The artists displayed at the gallery are strictly artists from or have a strong connection to Iowa, many new to exhibiting their work in a professional gallery or emerging artists.
