Creston Arts, a distinguished 501(c)3 non-profit institution, proudly commemorates five decades of enriching lives and inspiring creativity within the Creston and its neighboring communities. Founded in 1976, Creston Arts embarked on a transformative journey, igniting artistic passions and fostering cultural growth within the region. In 2011, a dedicated group of volunteers assumed leadership, propelling Creston Arts to new heights by establishing Union County’s first art gallery and pioneering a diverse range of programs designed to cater to individuals of all ages and abilities. Our Commitment to the Community:
- Creative Learning for All Ages: At Creston Arts, we believe that art is a catalyst for connection, healing and growth. We offer an extensive array of classes and workshops designed to cater to individuals spanning generations. Whether you are a budding artist or an experienced creator, our programs are tailored to nurture your artistic potential.
- Nurturing Tomorrow’s Talent: Our summer art camp provides a unique platform for young creatives to explore their artistic flair in an engaging and supportive environment. We are committed to shaping the artists of tomorrow through hands-on experiences and expert guidance.
- Artistry in Residence: Creston Arts proudly hosts an artist-in-residency program, welcoming both established and emerging artists. This initiative fosters a vibrant exchange of ideas, facilitating the creation of innovative and thought-provoking artworks. This residency allows the space needed for artists to explore their style and/or challenge themselves to further develop their career. Our art residents are asked to guide community workshops and display work at the end or during their stay.
- Showcasing Excellence: Our gallery space serves as a dynamic platform for professional and emerging artists to exhibit their work. We invite the public to meet the artist every First Friday for an opening reception.
- Public Art: Creston Arts’ prolific public art program has added splashes of creativity to the town’s walls. These public murals not only beautify Creston but also celebrate its cultural diversity.
Creston Arts stands as a testament to our enduring commitment to the community and our unyielding dedication to artistic progression. As we celebrate 50 years of artistic excellence, we invite you to join us in our mission to make art accessible, inclusive, and transformative for all.
